What an awesome vlog! Thanks for all the great tips!!

Hi! Can’t wait to meet you IRL at #DisneySMMoms! One of my fave tips for packing is to bring an over-the-door shoe organizer and use it at the hotel to store toothbrushes, lotions, and heck even shoes, to keep the room neat and tidy! :)

    • http://mama-of-all-trades.blogspot.com Ashley @ Mama of All Trades

That is an awesome tip!! I am going to have to grab one of those at Target this week. Thank you!! And I look forward to meeting you, too!

Thanks for the great tips! We are going to Disneyland next month, so this is so helpful!

  • http://www.CleverCompass.com/ Alissa Enders

Such an awesome vlog! Loved all the tips and you look fabulous.

    • http://mama-of-all-trades.blogspot.com Ashley @ Mama of All Trades

      aww, thanks Alissa!

  • Faith Turner

This was a great vlog post!  We do a lot of the same things you do as well.  I always pack a small lunch collapsible cooler to use.  It fit perfectly in our stroller basket and I could keep snacks, bottles (when they were babies), baby food, milk, etc… in that.  It came in real handy for our trips.  The small gel packs to keep the food/drink cool are small enough that they fit in the little fridge freezer part of your hotel fridge.

    Have fun at the conference!

    • http://mama-of-all-trades.blogspot.com Ashley @ Mama of All Trades

That’s a great tip, too, Faith! Thanks for sharing!

    • Kelly

We pack a wet washcloth in a sandwich ziplock and keep in the cooler to cool off!

Great tips!  We can’t wait to go to Disney!

  • Anita

Thanks for the great tips!!  Heading to Disney in August, I have a six year old and won’t be using a stroller.  Any ideas on back packs or over the shoulder purses to carry stuff in around Disney??

    • http://mama-of-all-trades.blogspot.com Ashley @ Mama of All Trades

You know, we just happen to use whatever we have around.  This trip, I used a tote bag and liked it just as much as using a bookbag.  It ends up sitting in one side of the double stroller for most of the time anyway, lol!  Thanks for viewing the video!

    • Kelly

Thirty One has an awesome draw string “cinch sack” that is around $20…mine has lasted through several trips and you can personalize them!

      • Amanda Parker

I use the same thing from thirty one. Love it and it holds SO much!

  • Ashley Gibson

I love your ideas! I even went out and bought an extra laundry basket after I watched your VLOG. Could you tell me what brand sunscreen wipes you buy? My son will be 23 months when we go to WDW (in November) Also do you take bug spray with you? I have never put bug spray on my son and could use a recommendation. Thank you!

    • http://mama-of-all-trades.blogspot.com Ashley @ Mama of All Trades

We’ve never used bug spray on our Disney trips. We actually don’t use it much at home, either. I need to find a good brand.

  • leslea

This was immensely helpful.  I’m off to shop tomorrow for most of this!

    • http://mama-of-all-trades.blogspot.com Ashley @ Mama of All Trades

I hope you had fun shopping!

      • leslea

I did! Your video was a big help, and I linked to it on my blog post this morning. http://LesleaTash.com

  • KyleeB

I bring a collapsible hamper because we usually do one load of laundry there. It folds flat and fits in the suitcase. It also helps keeps the room clean. I also bring a power strip so we have enough outlets when charging phones, etc.

    • http://mama-of-all-trades.blogspot.com Ashley @ Mama of All Trades

A power strip is a brilliant idea! There are never enough outlets in a hotel room!

  • Staciepeanut

Loved your Vblog.  I made my list of stuff to pack based on your recommendations.  We’ll be headed out to WDW in 2 weeks with my 5 year old from California and I cannot wait!  One thing you could add to your musthaves list are to store your shampoo, toothpaste, sunscreen, and anything else that could explode or open in your luggage (and on the plane this happens a ton!), I always store in a Ziploc bag so the mess is contained if it does happen.  I love your blog… keep up the great work!

    • http://mama-of-all-trades.blogspot.com Ashley @ Mama of All Trades

Oh yes, that’s why I mentioned the ziplocs in my video. To contain messes both from in-park ice cream meltdowns and on the plane.  I think I use a whole box on each vacation, lol!   Thank you so much for coming to visit my site!

  • Cdolan86

You should also bring your own refillable water bottles most people don’t know that you can fill them up with filtered water at any of the hotel concession stands as well as the baby care locations.  Also purel or another hand sanitizer is always nice even tho disney has them all over the parks they may not be where you are at the moment. I also would recommend a plastic bag for water rides like splash for your cell phone or point and shoot cameras. Thank you for the extra tips, we frequent Disneyland but this only our 2nd Disney World trip and first as parents

    • http://mama-of-all-trades.blogspot.com Ashley @ Mama of All Trades

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Yes, the ziploc bags are crucial on the water rides!

  • guest

Found this on Pinterest.  We’re heading out for our first trip soon.  Thanks for the great ideas!!

    • http://mama-of-all-trades.blogspot.com Ashley @ Mama of All Trades

You’re so welcome! I hope you have a magical first vacation!

  • Faith

Ok so I forgot to ask a question as well as post my tip a while back.  What brand of sunscreen wipes do you use?

    • http://mama-of-all-trades.blogspot.com Ashley @ Mama of All Trades

I like the Super Goop wipes.  I purchase them from Amazon.

  • Deedry31

Great tips! I consider myself an organized and prepared person especially when it comes to packing, but you have thought of absolutely everything!!! This has helped a great deal. Btw, love your site! I found you via Pinterest and have been checking back a number of times to read your posts. I also LOVE your WDW spreadsheet! I have already started using it and filling in the details to our upcoming Disney trip!

    • http://mama-of-all-trades.blogspot.com Ashley @ Mama of All Trades

You are so sweet. Thank you!  I hope you keep coming back for more!

  • Princess_minnie78

GREAT TIPS!  I have a lot of glow sticks/necklaces too left over from halloween….Do you know if there is any issue with flying and packing these in luggage?  Short of contacting the airline….I havent found any information on their website or TSA regarding the glow sticks. I would hate to bring them only to have them tossed….9 day countdown for our WDW VACATION!!!

    • http://mama-of-all-trades.blogspot.com Ashley @ Mama of All Trades

Hi! I haven’t had issues with the glow sticks in my checked luggage.  If you were to carry them on the plane, they would have to be claimed as a liquid in your quart-sized ziploc bag. Have a magical vacation!

  • Sdhelms80

If the Ramada West Gate is really cheap, we will sometimes stay there instead of onsite.  When we do we stop at the Burger King and pick up a few cheeseburgers for my son to have to eat in the parks.

  • Mom2queenie2004

When I pack for the kids I put socks, panties and full outfit in a gallon zip-lock, one for each day. That way I know they have all the clothes they will need and they just need to pick a ziplock out of the suitcase.

  • Redreuts

We will also pack a small personal fan.  This is an essential item when visiting in the summer and you experience those famous Florida afternoon showers!  It really helps to dry shoes when they get soaked in the rain.  Our family always picks up a case of bottled water on the way to Disney from the airport.  It saves quite a bit!  Happy park hopping! :)

  • Ashley Gibson

Love your video!!! We are staying off property but I think I am going to bring one of my over the door shoes racks (the plastic/vinyl ones) to hang on the bathroom door and keep all of our tolietries off the counter and away from the kids. Thanks for the great tips!

  • MadMacMom

My youngest likes to press pennies so she saves her quarters and pennines in a mini m&m container. I also like to make sure each girl has a light weight drawstring back pack to carry a snack, sunglasses autograph book! Etc. we can’t wait til November! I love your Disney box idea!!

Great video. My kids like to use a night light so we take one with us. Also, we make sure we put address labels on our phones/cameras just incase we lose them while we are there. It came in handy one year when my sister-in-law left her camera behind at the “House of Blues”. A suggestion when you are in Disney, take a picture of the “Photo Pass” card you receive from the Disney photographers. This way, if you lose the card you will have a picture of your card number and you can still look the pictures up online when you get home.

  • Ellen

Where can I find the Disney spreadsheet

I AM SO GLAD I WATCHED THAT VIDEO!! Thank you for the great tips, we are 1st timers to Disney. Planning Christmas 2013 & I feel so overwhelmed w/ excitement & tips everywhere this was So very reassuring & helpful.

I recommend reading The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World! I will never go to a park again without one of their plans!! There are tons of great tips like this in the books and great ways to save money. We packed our own lunch, brought snacks like jerky and nuts and bottles of water. Also, take a picture of the back of your park ticket. This way the park will replace it if it is lost.
