Workout Wednesday: GaiamTV

I am taking a break from vlogging Workout Wednesday this week.  I think yesterday’s vlog was enough for one week (I told y’all I can ramble).

I have so much to tell you about Ripped in 30 next week!  I moved up to the final week tonight and I am so pumped about it!  I really feel great and like I’m kicking some serious booty.  It still hurts like crazy, but I’m ok with the pain in a strange way.  I may even get brave and show you my progress photos.  We’ll see.

One thing I have been concerned about is how I’m going to do my workouts while on vacation.  Yes, I know, working out on vacation? What now?  I can’t help it.  The thought of taking nine days off from my routine scares me.  And, we all know Jillian is all-knowing.  What if she hunts me down and makes me do plank jumps as punishment for skipping my workouts?  Shudder.  I don’t want to hinder the progress I’ve made so far.  But, I’m not about to lug a DVD player on vacation.

I was so excited to be invited to try out a new streaming workout channel called GaiamTV.  Think of it as Netflix for exercise videos, but a million times better.

I can access thousands of workouts and tailor them to my needs, whether they be weight loss or flexibility.  They have every type of workout available, too! It’s not just yoga.  There’s cardio, dance, Pilates, meditation, kickboxing…you name it, they’ve got it.

Best of all, I can access the service on my iPhone or tablet when I’m on the go!  I don’t have to be on a computer or near a DVD player to get quality workout programming

Oh, and guess who’s on there?

Yup. Jillian.

Look, you can see her in the photo, just staring at me, knowing I have no excuses to miss out on my workouts. She’s everywhere!

So now I get to bring my Ripped in 30 workout with me wherever I go.  No excuses.

Jillian would be proud, no?

GaiamTV is, in my opinion, a deal at $9.95 per month.  You’re basically getting a on-the-go gym and yoga studio for the fraction of the cost of a brick and mortar gym membership.  And I’m not on the gym’s schedule, I’m on my own.  So if I want to do a workout during naptime or after the kids are in bed, I can.  I can bring it on vacation, I can take my iPhone to the park and have an outdoor yoga session.  It’s all on my terms.  I like that.

I am going to be purchasing a membership for myself, especially since we’ll be on-the-go with our vacation coming up and then our big move.   If you’re thinking about doing the circuit of Jillian Michaels DVDs or find yourself purchasing a new workout DVD each month, this is really the way to go. They also offer a risk-free 10-day trial so you can try it out and see if it works for you.

Would you use a service like this?  How do you stay on your workout routine on vacation?

I was provided a free trial of GaiamTV to facilitate my review and compensated for my time.  As always, all opinions are my own.
