Bunny and Bubba were so excited when I told them I was going to see Finding Nemo 3D last week as part of the #DisneyInHomeBloggers trip on behalf of SippyCupMom.com.
They insisted on watching the DVD all day on Monday and Tuesday and asked me a million questions about the movie when I got home. I decided to have a little Nemo-inspired fun with them with a simple craft project.
These make a great decoration for any “under the sea” or Nemo themed birthday party! Simply switch the top ribbon for some floss or thread and you can attach them to your ceiling for a floating jellyfish decoration!

You’ll need:
Coffee Filters
Markers
Spray Bottle
Water
Curling Ribbon
Tape
Let your child draw any design they wish using the markers on the coffee filters. The more colorful, the better! Be sure to protect your table/surface as the marker will bleed through.
Punch a small hole in the center of the coffee filter.
Spray the coffee filter lightly with water. This will cause the marker to run and bleed, causing an awesome tie dye effect. (again, make sure you’re protecting your work surface!)
After the coffee filters have dried, run a peice of ribbon through the hole and tie off. Then tape the “tentacles” (curling ribbon) onto your jellyfish. Use as many as you want! I didn’t curl my ribbon very much, it still had a lot of bounce/curl from being on the spool.
If you find your jellyfish is a bit too disc-like on the top, gather the coffee filter in your hands and crunch it shut to create a dome-shaped top.
Enjoy your groovy jellyfish!
Finding Nemo 3D swims into theaters on September 14th. You can find lots of great crafts and projects on the official Finding Nemo website. You can even buy your tickets now!
I attended the #DisneyInHomeBloggers press trip on behalf of SippyCupMom.com. Disney provided my transportation, lodging, and meals while on the trip. This is not a required post. Stay tuned for more about my trip on MamaOfAllTrades.com and SippyCupMom.com.
