My posts have magical powers, y’all. I vent my frustration on not having orders on Monday, and by Friday, we finally get word that we’re really moving.
Ok, so I really don’t have magical powers. It was all just a coincidence. But, still. Whoooo orders!
They threw a little curve ball at us and told TH we’re moving to a different location than what we had expected. I’m totally ok with this. We get to live in a city with professional sports and museums and dozens of school choices and Target and Starbucks and Wegmans.

We’re also moving a LOT sooner than I had imagined. I was pretty much in denial about having to move this Fall/Winter. Now the reality is right in front of me. We’re moving, like now. Around one month from today, the packers and movers will be here and we will be on our way to our next adventure.
There’s still so much to do. We have to prepare our home for our renters, go through four years of accumulated junk and sort it all out, organize everything for the packers/movers {more on this in a future post}…I feel like I’m forgetting something…oh yeah. Find a home for us! Yikes. My days will now consist of dropping Bunny off at school and rushing home to see how much cleaning/packing I can do in 2.5 hours without Bubba undoing it all. Weekends will be spent painting, spackling, organizing and preparing.
I’m coming home from my Walt Disney World trip a day early so TH can head up to NY and house hunt. I’m really bummed to miss out on Epcot30 and quality time on Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, but finding a house ranked a little higher on the priority list {well, maybe on TH’s priority list}.
It’s definitely going to be a crazy month, but I can’t wait. It will all be worth it to be settled in our new home, in a new city, and begin the next chapter of our lives.
I was getting the four-year itch anyway. {military wives and families know what I’m talking about} I’m ready for new scenery, new friends, new experiences. TH and I were talking last night and we were joking that we’ll never be able to settle down when he retires. We’re still going to want to move every four years. After his 14 years of service, it’s just a part of who we are.
So expect lots of posts over the next month with moving tips and probably several about me losing my mind in the process. Here goes nothing!
